Lisa Teryl – President

Lisa Teryl is the President of Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, bringing more than 25 years of legal, operational, and leadership experience to the organization since its founding in 2024. Raised in St. Margaret’s Bay, Lisa co-founded Teryl Scott Lawyers Inc. and has built a distinguished career as senior legal counsel with a focus on family law, employment law, human rights, and conflict resolution.

Lisa is widely recognized for her commitment to making the law more accessible and practical. She developed innovative flat-fee mediation programs that streamline complex disputes for families and employers—an approach that reflects her broader philosophy of efficiency, clarity, and client empowerment, which she brings into this venture.

A graduate of the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, Lisa is also a former senior legal counsel with the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission and an award-recognized alumna. She is the author of Nova Scotia Law: Everything You Wanted To Know But Couldn’t Afford To Ask as well as Common Law Rules of Procedure For Tribunals In Canada: Rules, Commentary, and Practice Tips.

At Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, Lisa applies her deep experience in systems thinking, client service, and conflict management to help build an integrated, high-functioning business services platform.


Shawn Scott – co-owner

Shawn Scott is a Co-Owner of Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, contributing decades of experience in law, entrepreneurship, and business development since co-founding the venture in 2024. Born in Wolfville and raised in St. Margaret’s Bay, Shawn has built a career defined by leadership, innovation, and a strong commitment to Nova Scotia’s business community.

His academic path includes studies at Acadia University and McGill University, where he graduated with honours, followed by a Master’s degree in Religious Studies and a law degree from Queen’s University.

Shawn co-founded Teryl Scott Lawyers Inc. before going on to establish Brookshire Law Office, where he leads a high-performing team serving clients across a range of legal needs. Called to the bar in 1996, his background combines legal expertise with a proven track record in building and growing successful organizations.

At Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, Shawn brings strategic vision and entrepreneurial insight, helping to drive growth and innovation across the company’s integrated service offerings.


Elizabeth Carter – Office Manager

Elizabeth Carter is the Office Manager at Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, where she has played a key role in supporting operations and systems management since the company’s launch in 2024. She oversees day-to-day office coordination while also helping manage the company’s technological infrastructure, ensuring that internal systems run efficiently and reliably.

Elizabeth brings a strong background in design, marketing, and digital strategy. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University, with a major in photography, and has extensive experience in website management, SEO, and online branding. Her combined creative and technical skillset allows her to bridge the gap between design, functionality, and user experience.

Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Elizabeth moved to Nova Scotia after high school to participate in a youth outreach program and has since built her career in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

At Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, Elizabeth contributes to the seamless integration of administrative processes and technology systems, helping ensure a smooth and professional experience for both clients and internal teams.


Kathleen Brown – Lead Receptionist

Kathleen Brown is the Lead Receptionist at Prince’s Lodge Business Centre, serving as the welcoming face of the front lobby since the company’s launch in 2024. She plays a key role in creating a professional and positive first impression for clients while ensuring the smooth day-to-day flow of front desk operations.

A native Haligonian, Kathleen brings a strong background in client service and administrative support. She assists clients and visitors with direction and coordination while providing essential office support, including document handling, scanning, copying, collating, and mail services. She also oversees front lobby hospitality, ensuring clients feel comfortable and well cared for during their visit.

Kathleen previously worked in the government sector, where she was recognized with a Minister’s Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement—reflecting her commitment to professionalism and service. She has also been active in public speaking and personal development through Dalhousie University Toastmasters, earning recognition in the humorous speech category and receiving a Triple Crown Award from Toastmasters International.

Known for her friendly and approachable demeanor, Kathleen is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and ensuring every visitor’s experience is both seamless and welcoming.
